Design background and meaning

At present, there are many methods for engineering logging tools for casing inspection, including caliper, ultrasonic imager and electromagnetic detector. Among them, the caliper has high requirements on the center of the instrument, and the eccentricity will cause measurement error, and the instrument is not suitable for wells with severely broken casing; the ultrasonic method is greatly affected by the drilling fluid, and if the density of the drilling fluid is large, the acoustic attenuation Severe, affecting the accuracy of detection, must wash wells and replace drilling fluid before testing, increasing labor intensity. The electromagnetic detector is based on the electromagnetic principle to give the evaluation of the integrity of the casing. It is not affected by the liquid in the well, the casing fouling, the wax formation and the attachment of the well wall, and the measurement accuracy is relatively high.
