Socionext Inc. The product is expected to be available to advertisers such as LED live large screens and digital signage in March 2018. Sochi Technology will build a series of solutions for 8K image encoding, transmission, decoding and display with this player as the center, providing a variety of solutions for the popularization of ultra-fine image scenes.
The company is a world leader in the development of 8K/60PHEVC decoding and demodulator LSIs that comply with the ISDB-S3 digital broadcasting standard. It is the industry leader in receiving terminal products for 4K/8K satellite broadcasting (introduced since 2018). As the fifth-generation mobile communication system (5G) will be put into commercialization in 2020, the use of ultra-fine video content will increase dramatically.
In this context, Soxi Technology has developed a media player s8 that can maximize the use of 8K ultra-high definition and high image. The s8 is equipped with the demodulator LSI "SC1400A" developed by Suo Xi Technology, which can decode the HEVC 8K video input in real time. Compared with the video data reproduction, it can realize 8K live broadcast of sports events and concerts. In addition, H.264/MPEG-4 compressed 4K images can be decoded, even 4K images can be upgraded to 8K (super resolution processing).
Sochi Technology is equipped with 8 LSI "MB86M31" to form 8K HEVC real-time encoding system, with media player s8, 8K image encoding, transmission, decoding, display all necessary image processing, providing a total solution for 8K image transmission.
