At the same time, the data traffic of the metropolitan area network is growing too fast, and operators have begun to introduce high-speed backbone transmission technologies such as 100G and super 100G to alleviate the pressure on the bearer. Tbit-level transmission requirements will also become the norm.

FTTH facilitates 100M home entry

Wei Leping, director of the China Telecom Technology Committee, has made it clear that FTTH will be the main access method for China Telecom in the future. It echoes the strategy of "Broadband China · Optical Network City". Although China Unicom has not launched an enterprise-level broadband development strategy, the popularity of its "speed of light city" in many provinces and cities also reflects its greater strength in FTTH construction. It is also reported that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology intends to use "Broadband China" as a development plan for the entire communications industry and contribute to the national broadband development strategy. This series of performances all show that the broadband access rate will increase significantly.

Not only are there favorable factors in terms of policy, but also the upward trend of broadband rates can be seen from the actual access bandwidth of users. Now in some cities with high FTTH user access rate, such as Shanghai and Wuhan, the user's broadband rate has been increased to 20M, and the original 1M and 2M bandwidths have also been increased to 4M for free. 100G is just the beginning

In 2011, 100G has begun to be deployed on a certain scale in the world, 100G router equipment has matured, and global shipments have also gradually increased, and 100G optical transmission networks have deployed multiple experimental bureaus around the world. In 2012, it will be 100G The outbreak year deployed globally. As for the domestic market, China Telecom has started 100G related laboratory testing, and China Unicom will also start in 2012. An expert from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology pointed out that 2012 is the year of domestic 100G testing and verification, and 2013 will realize the deployment of the existing network.

The introduction of 100G marks a new development period for the transmission network. After 100G has been widely recognized by global operators, the post-100G era has also become the focus of industry attention. Alcatel-Lucent is about to launch a 200G core router based on a 400Gbit / s data throughput network processor in 2012. In addition, companies have researched 400G and 1T transmission products. Wei Leping revealed that in 2013, the maximum segment capacity of the backbone network will reach 10T, and the era of Tbit / s transmission is about to start.
