Cooke Sends Internal Mail: Slamming Trump Out of Paris Climate Agreement

Earlier this week, this site reported that Cook had called the White House and persuaded Trump not to let the United States withdraw from the Paris climate agreement. Earlier today, US President Trump had officially announced that the United States would withdraw from the climate agreement. Now only three countries in the world are not involved. The other two are Syria and Nicaragua. Cook expressed his disappointment in an internal email sent to employees. The Axios website obtained this email and shared it:

“I know that many of you are very disappointed with the White House’s announcement that the United States has withdrawn from the Paris climate agreement. I had a telephone conversation with President Trump on Tuesday, hoping to persuade him not to do so. But obviously this is not enough."

Cook also explained that Apple will continue to insist on its own efforts to protect the environment, because it is good for the earth and Apple's business. Cooke further mentioned that Apple will work hard to stop production in the closed-loop supply chain and stop mining-related activities.

This is not the first time that Cook expresses his dissatisfaction with the Trump regime through internal mail. Cook earlier this year also criticized Trump's immigration travel ban.
