November 13, 2018 - ImaginaTIonTechnologies announces the launch of the PowerVRAutomoTIve complete product suite to facilitate the growth and acceleration of the automotive semiconductor industry. PowerVRAutomoTIve combines five essential elements of hardware intellectual property (IP), software, tools, documentation and long-term support to support existing customers and new entrants in the market to meet the safety requirements of the industry as the automotive industry moves towards fully autonomous driving Standards and performance requirements.
ImaginaTIon is launching the PowerVRSeries8XT-AGPU core to complement its existing IP that is widely used in infotainment systems, digital cockpits and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The PowerVRSeries8XT-A enhances recovery and reliability features, making it easier for system-on-chip (SoC) designers to obtain automotive safety certification for their SoCs for digital human-machine interfaces (HMIs) and autonomous vehicles (AVs).

Based on the PowerVRFurian architecture, the Series8XT-A is a new member of the Series8XT GPU family and targets applications for instrument clusters, head-up displays (HUDs), infotainment systems, digital cockpits, and ADAS functions. The Series8XT-A offers leading power, performance and area (PPA) metrics and supports new hardware and software features such as GPU fault detection and recovery. Other new features include Error Correcting Code (ECC), Logic Built-In Self-Test (LBIST), and an industry-leading verification strategy.
