The light bulb is said to be manufactured by the Chinese lighting supplier TCP, providing two levels of brightness: 800 lumens equivalent to 60W and 470 lumens equivalent to 40W. Each bulb is available in a dimmable or non-dimmable version with an 800 lumens dimmable price of $9.88 and a non-dimmed version of $8.88. It is difficult to distinguish on the outer package. The only distinguishable mark is the lower corner of the side of the non-dimmable package. The lower part of the bulb is indicated by the arrow on the figure. The dimmable version does not have any logo, which will make it difficult for consumers to distinguish and confuse after buying it in the supermarket. According to Wal-Mart, the performance of this bulb is 11W, 800 lumens, the small character on the base of the lamp: consumption 10.5W, 9.3W through the meter test, power factor is 0.93. The 2700K version of the "soft white" bulb emits light that is comfortable and bright, as shown below.

What is the dimming performance of the bulb? Initially, the wall-mounted dimmer switch tested its fast running up and down brightness levels. In the subsequent tests, after a considerable amount of dimming and switching, some brightness levels appeared. Unstable and flickering.

What is the light mode of the bulb? The bulb is designed as a sno-conical shape, and the LED chip is arranged in a flat plate, and the projected light is like a beam of a spotlight or a flashlight. This means that the bulb is not all-round, like an incandescent lamp, or even like an energy-saving lamp. The diagram below shows a rough representation of the light distribution with a noticeable black spot on the bottom of the bulb. A sno-conical design will produce such light by itself. The US Energy Star requires that the omnidirectional lamp should produce a uniform beam angle of more than 270° (± 135). The outer casing is plastic and the underside of the outer casing is essentially aluminum. It can be seen that 38 plastic packaged LED components are on a metal core printed circuit board, which in turn is mounted on a circular metal plate. The importance of this metal plate is that it transfers heat from the printed circuit board of the LED to a circular metal collar that dissipates heat through the base of the lamp into the surrounding air. Please note that this metal base has no heat sink fins that are common to other LED bulbs. The test metal base is heated to a temperature of 150 °F (about 65 degrees Celsius).

Wal-Mart LEDs are in plastic packaging, while CREE and Philips LEDs are ceramic packages. Ceramic-packaged LEDs are more resistant to heat and less susceptible to aging. Cree's ceramic-encapsulated LEDs may be one of the reasons for its 10-year warranty on the lamp; Wal-Mart only offers a 3-year warranty.
