China's first UHV transmission line works well

The reporter learned today from the Shanxi Electric Power Company that China’s first UHV transmission line “Jindongnan-Nanyang-Jingmen 1000kV UHV pilot demonstration project” has been operating safely for 29 months, not only greatly enhancing the power between the North China and Central China power grids. Exchange and resource optimization configuration capabilities, but also to achieve energy saving, has achieved a double harvest of economic and social benefits.

Since the project was officially put into commercial operation on January 6, 2009, it has achieved the highest operating voltage level in the world, the largest transmission capacity, and represents the highest level of international power transmission and transformation. It is a milestone in the history of electric power development in China and the world. . It also marks a major breakthrough in China's long-distance, high-capacity, low-loss UHV power transmission technology and equipment localization. As of the end of April 2011, the line has cumulatively delivered 23.4 billion kWh.

It is understood that this UHV AC pilot demonstration project is the starting project for the development of UHV transmission in China. With the construction of follow-up projects, China will form a large 1000-volt AC power grid across North and South China and Central China and further develop it into East China, eventually leading to a strong UHV transmission network in Central China, East China, and North China.
