In the first half of the year, Jiangsu's import and export amounted to US$214.6 billion, an increase of 50%

According to Nanjing Customs statistics, in the first half, Jiangsu Province realized foreign trade of $ 214.6 billion, an increase of 49.1% over last year, of which exports 122.48 billion US dollars, an increase of 44.4%; imports US $ 92.12 billion, an increase of 56%.

In terms of national rankings, Jiangsu's imports and exports accounted for 15.8% of the country's total , of which exports accounted for 17.4% and imports accounted for 14.2% . The year-on-year increase in imports and exports was higher than Guangdong, Shanghai, Zhejiang and Shandong by 15.2 , 6.6 , 7.8 and 8.1 percentage points respectively. Export growth was correspondingly higher by 16.9 , 10.9 , 4.7 and 10.4 percentage points.

Since the beginning of this year, Jiangsu's foreign trade has exhibited some new features. First, the processing trade has gradually rebounded, with an import and export volume of US$ 117.96 billion, an increase of 48% , which is faster than the general trade of 4.5 %. Exports of US$ 72.86 billion, an increase of 42.1% , are also higher than average. Trade was 1.1 percentage points. Second, the increase rate of private enterprises was much higher than that of foreign-invested enterprises. Foreign-invested enterprises’ import and export volume was US$ 161.08 billion, up 47.6% year-on-year, and private enterprises’ import and export volume was US$ 31.19 billion, an increase of 62% . Over the same period, apparel, textile yarn fabrics and products, footwear, plastic products, bags, toys, sporting goods, furniture, mattress bedding and lamps The increase in exports of 10 categories of traditional labor-intensive products was US$ 19.31 billion, an increase of 24.7% .

Customs officials said that in the first half of the year, Jiangsu's foreign trade continued to improve, but it could not be blindly optimistic. There are still many uncertainties at home and abroad. Take the newly issued export tax rebate policy as an example. Of the 406 export tax rebates, steel is not colored. Metals and chemical products are the traditional advantages of our province's exports. In the first half of the year, the province’s exports involving the cancellation of export tax rebate products totaled 1.47 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 1.1 times year-on-year, and accounted for 15.8% of the national export tax rebates for exports during the same period. Guangdong and Shanghai accounted for 6% .
