Summary:
The flyback converter uses a device in the PeakSwitch family (U1, PKS606Y) to drive a 35 W motor while outputting 75 W peak power during startup and load transitions. There are two ways to change the speed of the motor: 1) using potentiometer R20 (connected to J3), or 2) using an external 3.6 V to 10 V DC voltage source (connected to J4). Motor speed control is achieved by changing the output voltage of the power supply.
design feature
- Replace a two-stage linear power supply and circuit breaker design with a simple single-stage circuit design
- Eliminate the circuit breaker circuit commonly used as DC motor shift control
- Motor speed is controlled by a small potentiometer or a variable DC voltage of 3.6 V to 10 V
- Use fewer components: only 47 components
- Efficiency: ≥77% (at 36 W load)
- Meet EN55022B conductive EMI restrictions
- The ON/OFF control mode remains stable over the entire motor speed (output voltage)
